Beth Chaverim is excited to offer an even stronger pre-confirmation and confirmation program for the 2009-10 school year.

Eighth Grade Class

The 8th grade will be taught by Lisa Kimball. The curriculum will focus on World Jewry, the land of Israel, and American Jewry. Students will discuss the different ways people live Judaism and begin to understand that there is no one specific way to be Jewish; leading them to ask, "What kind of Jewish life do I want to live?"

Class meets 11 am - 1 pm or 11 am - 2 pm. For those attending the 11 - 2 pm classes, the fees include the new 1 - 2 pm "Lunch & Judaism in Movies & Television" class (see below). You must pre-register to attend and specify the time you will be attending. In either case the fee is $440 and includes book/materials.

As these classes take place during lunch time, a 30 minute lunch/social time is built into them and lunch will be provided each week (the cost for lunch is included in the fees for these classes).

Ninth & Tenth Grade Class

The combined 9th & 10th grade class will be taught by Rabbi Gallop. In this class, students will discuss God, theology, and how to treat themselves and others with holiness and respect.

Class meets 11 am - 1 pm or 11 am - 2 pm. For those attending the 11 am - 2 pm classes, the fees include the new 1 pm - 2 pm new Lunch & Judaism in Movies & Television class. Lunch & Judaism in Movies & Television (new in September 2009)

Rabbi Gallop will be leading this fun elective class for 8th -12th graders. Students who have already been confirmed and those not enrolled in our traditional pre-confirmation or confirmation program (8th - 12th graders as of September 2009) are invited to sign up for this new program.

The class meets each Sunday when Religious School is in session, 12:30 pm - 2 pm. The fee is $225 for those not attending pre-confirmation or confirmation classes.
